SAFOAM® is an endothermic chemical nucleating and blowing agent for the creation of fine foam structures in thermoplastic injection molding and extrusion applications. They are commonly used in injection molding for the creation of structural foam composites and weight reduction. In extrusion operations, it is used for the creation of very fine cells in medium density extrudate. All SAFOAM® powders are microencapsulated with special surfactants, which result in:
- Improved bubble stability
- Slowed moisture absorption and diffusion rate
- Extended CO2 shelf life
- Excellent dispersion
Reedy International provides an ethylene acrylate copolymer masterbatch for elastomeric, "soft touch" products. These products are known as the "RAZ" blowing agents.
